i don't understand why you would want two filters. Just run the smaller micron filter and be done with it...it'll filter both the small and large particles at once. I'm only running one 3 micron filter....that's it. If you run more that one....start with the larger one first then the smaller. That's how the stock system is. The one at the bowl on the factory setup is 4 micron i believe.

Pre pump to catch debris/separate water before it gets into your pump, post pump to catch the smaller stuff, and possibly any debris that the pump creates (bad pump). Two filters are cheap compared to injectors.

IMO 10 micron pre pump might restrict it if it's a large pump.
I would want something to filter any large particles before the pump plus you'll get alot longer service life out of the filters.

This, Not all filters are created equal, even if they cross reference. Check the flow rates, etc.

I just figured it would alleviate one filter from having to do the job of 2 filters. That way one is purely a water separator and the other is for debris, etc.

Seems like a good plan. Hard part is finding a place post pump for the 2 mic filter.

alot of guys are only running one fuel filter and it's working just fine. Just install the small micron filter to the airdog/FASS along with the water seperator and It'll catch both the large and the small. Been running it this way for a long time with no issues.

actually i'm talking about one 3 micron fuel filter and one water seperator. When i said one filter i mean fuel not counting the water seperator.

 that's how almost everyone runs it. The "water separator" is a filter, usually 20-35 microns

09stroker i thought he was meaning two fuel filters besides the water seperator one. alot of guys are doing that way also...which is what i thought he meant. i meant one actual fuel filter and a water seperator...which would be two actual filters. thought he meant two fuel filters and a water seperator...which would be three filters

Just call up jake@irate diesel. I was looking to do what you did and I gave him a call told him what I wanted and me hooked me up! For a pretty good price too. Then I got a sump from beans

Does he do 6.0 setups too? Just looked on his site and really like the looks of the fuel lab pump and filter setup he has on there! might have to just do that...

Yeah. Just call him and tell him what you need. I already had a regulated return and I wanted to do the fuel bowl delete and I was adding a sump and he put together everything I needed to do it. The only things I had to do was get caps to cap of the feed lines off the fuel bowl since I physically left it on to run the return through it. And one of the lines on my regulated return wasn't long enough to run around the fuel bowl to the Tee. So I went to my local John Deere dealer and had a hydraulic line made. Really nice setup. I'll try to get some pics

Anyone running something similar to this without a RR in place??? Currently I'm going to be stuck not running a RR and having to use true check valves in the front of the heads (however they outflow the 1/2 arse factory check valves).
