Anyone ran this tire in a 305/60/20? I picked my dad up a different set of factory 20's yesterday and he is going to put them on when he needs new tires here pretty soon. Trying to find a quiet all terrain tire that's slightly larger than factory size (275/65/20), provides for a good ride, and is still E load. I thought about the 295/60/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers but they're such a stout tire, they're not going to be forgiving. I've had them before on factory 20's and they definitely are a firmer tire. I don't think he would like them. He likes a little softer tire and doesn't need a super high weight rating. The most his truck has behind it is a bumper trailer with a few ATV's on it.

Sorry for the rambling and thanks in advance any input!

I think the duratracs are considered an all terrain tire and imo there a pretty soft tire. I have them on my ranger. they might be to agressive though. I have heard good thinks about the wrangler silent armor. never personally ran them though. I do have to say, all my experience with goodyear tires I have noticed they are softer vs other brands

I have had two sets of the Silent Armors on suv's and they are a very good tire.. Great traction, low noise and wear well.. My brother has them on his work 6.0 in range E, he plows every storm for the city and they are wearing like iron..

:whs: your dad will be pleased. road manners are great and they are a nearly silent tire. work good in rain as well. i have had two sets and the work fine for towing and if he doesnt do burnouts he should get 60k miles out of them easy.

My dads been through 2 sets on his titan. He gets about 85k out of them then they start to wear funny. They are great tires IMO.

Sent from the drivers seat.

I have them on both trucks and the explorer and love them. With the new trailer behind the 2000 I think I am going to go to more of a highway tire, for some less rolling resistance but when I dually swap this truck I will definitely run these tires.

I had silant armors on my truck when i got it. Just about bald but still had traction and no noise what so ever. Guy at work got 80k out of them on his stock 03 ccsb 6.0.

My father had them on his 6.4. He was not impressed with the snow traction. He also only got 24k out of them. They were a 285 load range E

Agreed. I ran the factory Goodyear 275/65 tires on the 20" Harley wheels on my 2010 truck. Those tires sucked in an condition that wasn't dry pavement. Terrible in the snow and even felt iffy on wet roads. Didn't seem to have much tread life either, I had them on the truck for about 20,000, doubt they had another 5-8,000 left in them.

We aren't too worried about snow traction here in Georgia. LOL

We have more snow here than we need and the Armors have very good traction in it.. I don't think you have to worry about snow much down your way but if you windup in a snow state one day, you will have no worries..

Have you no belief in El Nina? LOL

El Niño or La Niña. We get snow during La Niña years but even then it's not much. 4" Christmas Day 2010 and 6" a few days after New Year 2012. Nothing since.

Thanks buddy! He likes the look of the tire, so I think it's what he will end up with.

factory wranglers are not silent armours although the tread pattern is similar.

The factory Wranglers are ATS's I believe.. The Silent Armors are basically an ATS with Kevlar in the sidewalls..

I have had ATS's on a couple of F-150's and they were okay but there is better for sure.. I have put lots of different tires on trucks over the years and out of all of them, Good Year tires have served me the best.. I'm really easy on a truck compared to lots of people I know so someone that drives there truck hard will not get the life out of the tire that swear by..
