Since about everywhere but here has roads designed for go carts Id sell and buy something when I got back stateside finally. Some of the roads ESPECIALLY in europe are more motorcycle friendly then something with 4 wheels. Been there done that. All the cars are small for a reason there :D

UPDATE:

Hey boys/gals. I got some good news today. USAF is sending me to Hawaii instead of Europe so the 2Fiddy stays:D. According to my buddy, i will be in a poor house with the cost of diesel in Honolulu but i do not care :D. I got a gigantic grin as i am typing this.

That is a nicer place to be. At least the island is only like 25 miles long, won't need a lot of fuel.

Afghan's cold is pissing me off. I lost one friend and two severely injured, one is missing half a leg and one might not have an arm soon. My dog is having spinal issues, might require a surgery that can't be done in Afghan. If that wasn't enough, Air Force gives me papers for transfer once i get back to US. Transfer is to Korea for my 3rd tour, in 6 years. Not an issue really but really is an issue, I will get to go to two places after Korea---Japan or a little place next to Amsterdam. I don't think Netherlands has a HUGE diesel market over there so servicing my baby might not be possible. Same goes for Japan. I love my truck and its troublesome nature ( its potential badness gives it character ) but i can't see myself towing it to a spot by Kadena to get an EGR related issue taken care of. What should do? Sell it and get something with a 5.9CR Cummins in it that will run for forever and a day with no issues or take my chances overseas with my PSD? I won't be back stateside for about 4 years or so. Not a rant session, just need to gather some perspectives from someone who is on the outside looking in. Good day to yall.

that statement just isnt correct...

:poke: that statement is so wrong, its not funny. dont worry, i made the same exact comment to him, when he went over. :D

my brother is there right now, in the army, and in one year, put 19,000 miles on his car. yes, on that stupid 25 mile island. it blew my mind. i made him send me a pic of the odometer of his car, i thought he was so full of chit.

he explained it to me like this.

me personally, i live in the country. not in town. so i drive 10 miles to town, lets say 2-3 miles around town, and 10 home.

total of around 22-25 miles. daily.

on the island, you drive 11 miles across it to og to the beach, 16 miles back to go to the store, 8 miles this way to get gas, 3 miles over here to get some food, and its only lunch time. ANYHING you want to do, regardless of what it is, is no closer than 5 miles from where you currently are. how many things do you do in a day?

just sayin.

I plan my day if I am going into town. Everything is at least 30 min for me, so I will plan if I need to go to town cause it is an hr away. I don;t plan oon driving back and forth 10 times for things.

It is a small island, if you are going to drive back and forth all day well then you will put a lot of miles on it. 19,000 miles is a little. I put 40,000 or so on in a year.

every truck ever made has reliability issues

Diesels more so.. I have had maybe 15 trucks and four of them diesels.. I put more money in repairs in ONE of them then all my gassers put together.. Diesel engines and the EPA just don't get along and the owner's of them pay for it..

I googled the distances...Its roughly 60 miles in length and 20 miles across. I also have a S1000RR that i will utilize so i won't put a ton of miles on the truck. Yes i do realize that all truck have faults, 5.9CR (mildly tuned w/valve body modded) seems to be more reliable than anything that EPA touched with their dickbeaters. HI's DMV stated that emissions aren't tested, good news. Diesel is about 4.50 a gallon, not that bad. Weather is always stable so diesel is always the same kind all year around, no winter mixes. I just hope that Honolulu has a decent diesel specialist on hand :D. I appreciate everyone's input. Good day to all.
