Hard wiring MM

I'm getting tired of plugging and unplugging my MM and want to hard wire it in. Which wires do I tap into? It seems like the manual shows 2 different configurations. If you have pictures that would be helpful if possible. Thanks.

Assuming yours is the same as mine (2010), there is a purple wire under the dash that I wired into. I don't have any pics at the moment though, sorry. I want to say it was purple with an orange stripe if I remember correctly. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, purely going from memory here.

I'd rather not leave the cord in the truck. Worried someone might see it and break into the truck.

Mine is a 2013 so I'm not sure if the wiring is the same.

Cool thanks man! I just tap into that wire then go to the fuse box as the instructions say?

negative, you tap that wire and connect to your OBD-II/HDMI block
