You can't really cut too much from the head panel unless you're drunk with a sawzall and lop off one of the mounting tabs. Just keep holding the new light up to the mounting location, slowly nipping away at where it contacts until it slips into place. Mirror the cut onto the opposite side. - for a pre 05' headerpanel

Other than that it's just wiring the new bulb's pigtail into your harness.

If you want to run an 05-07' grille with your pre 05' bumper, you'll have to carefully trim a 1/2" give-or-take off the bottom of the grille.

My eBay Harleys still look like new after 4 years of daily use. Even have the included free/Chinese bulbs that came with them in there kicking away just fine.

Old grille on new header panel will be okay except the little tabs that clip in on the bottom are in a different place so the bottom of the grille will flop around a bit unless you zip tie it. Whatever you do, just keep your grille and bumper matched up. Newer grille needs newer bumper, old grille needs old bumper. If you stick to that you won't have any gaps. I think a cut 05-07 grille looks a little white trash but it's your truck.

I literaly just got done ruining my 00' header panel with the sawzall. Gona just go find a 05'+ header and do it that way. I would say it would be easier with a dremel tool.

I cut a used header panel to install the 05-07 harley lights on my 02, cutting the header panel wasnt that hard. Just took my time making sure it would fit right, also you dont have to drill any holes for the lights to bolt up.

A sawzall for the headpanel? Yikes
