Just as the title says, has anyone thought about removing that vent window and installing some different glass to make the installation of tow mirrors a bit more appealing to the eyes? Is there any glass that could work like outta a 94ish ranger or an explorer or if they were close could they be cut?
I don't have my 97 anymore but I was looking into doing a tow mirror upgrade at the time and I just wanted to see if anyone else has thought of this. It's easy to build the Centurion but no one can re-work some glass for tow mirrors?

Thanks guys! I hope this triggers a thought for someone and a kit is born!

Probably not as easy as it sounds. You have to have the internal clearance for the larger glass, probably have to modify the regulators, felt channels, and internal/external ledge wiper seals. One-piece window kits have been done in other vehicles (VWs as an example) usually with less-than satisfactory appearance, especially with the wiper seals. The kits usually have straight wipers that need to be "formed" to the curve where the vent wing was. They look terrible and they leak. I would think correct application full-length wipers would be pretty spendy (especially in low number production). Just my thoughts. Cheers!

They make a kit for the old chevys as well. I'm not saying it'll be easy but I'm pretty sure it could be done and look quite good too. Thanks!
