Okay guys I have been wanting to do headers for a long time now and now that I have a motor on a stand i am getting more serious about buying a set. My question is can you make them fit? I know that they only make them for the SD guys but will they work? What is required? Does anyone have any picture? And last of all where can I get them? I know murff is out of business and it seems like DI doesnt have any (I havent call just basing this off their web page).

Powerstroked162 had headers on his OBS truck, maybe he'll chime in on his thoughts about them.

Here are my thoughts on them....anyone I've ever known that's had them/has them has had to weld them at one point or another because they crack along the welds. IMO they're good for one thing and that's competition only trucks.

All the headers that I have seen look to be good quality material with good quality welds. Why do you think that they are cracking? Vibrations, Heat, Both? Has any one else experienced this? This is the first time I had heard this?

I suppose I should've followed my statement with a disclaimer....all of the trucks that have headers that I know of ARE competition trucks. The headers on those trucks see 2000+ degrees once or twice a weekend during the summer. Maybe they'll last on a dd truck, but that I just don't have experience with.

Alright that makes sence. Mine will only see the track a handfull of times a year. does any one know what is involved in making these work in an obs? Any Pictures would be great! I still havent desided if they are worth the money or where to get them just yet but they do look and sound damn good!

Mine lasted long enough for me to get the truck home from WOP(600miles-ish?) and the replacement set was cracked outta the box. They just weren't for me. Stock manifolds didn't do me wrong in any way

So there not as good as they look apparently. Maybe I will save the money and spend it on something else. I would still like to see pictures of them in an obs. there are very few people who have done it and know what is involeed to make them fit from what I have seen.

Anything made of Ss for headers the welds will crack on turbo applications and will need maintaince. Happens to all are race cars and mustangs setup with turbo and you can't ceramic coat them bc if you do and they crack you need to grind the ceramic coating off so it's a waste of money. I'm sure they flow more but I would buy a nice set of factory's and send them out to be ceramic coated inside and out and will help with spool up
