Well my buddy traded his 10 f250 in today on a f150 and said I could have his almost new mini max. He still has the dpf and cat on there but had them gutted if I remember right. I tuned the truck back to stock and drove it around the dealership and no cel and didnt go into regen mode that i know of.
I have a sct livewire now and been running the highest canned tune. I have had good luck with it and getting pretty good mpg. Should I swap tuners and why?
How long does it take after taking a tuner off before it will regen? If it doesnt act up then I can keep both to play with :evil . But I cant take the risk of us selling his truck to someone and acting up because it isnt tuned. Does the edge juice with attuide have a dpf delete? I have one of them that i traded for some all weather mats that ill never use that i much rather trade then my sct.

Last night I returned my truck 08 f250 back to stock on my livewire and loaded the highest tune on the h&s to my truck. It felt alot faster and a little better over all. The mpg seemed to be a good bit less but I also hear that the high tune on the sct makes the computer on the truck read high. I went to move his truck and it wouldnt start. I guess that anwsers that question.
I went to load my livewire on his truck and i got vehicle not supported screen and code fs0p30 and tqjf5. I think that means the sct has to be updated to work on his truck?

If he is trading it in, take the minimaxx off and let the dealership deal with it. They will put stock exhaust back on and flash the computer. IIRC a dealership cant sell a deleted truck. And yes it sounds like the sct needs updating. You dont have the stock exhaust you can put back on the truck or his stock exhaust to put back on the truck?

What motor f150 did he get? I rode in a buddys 2013 lease truck and them things got some get up and go along with the fuel economy and they have been catching my eye lately. The amount of room in the cab is what amazes me how much more the f150 has than the f250

He still had the everything in place but it was gutted out. The preown manger doesnt know that it was gutted. If I didnt work there I wouldnt care but I do. The truck wouldnt start this morning with out the tune so I had to retune it. We sell deleted truck but tell he customer that it is before they buy it, since we dont have emissons. Im going to update my sct this weekend and see if that will work unless the update makes the sct better.

He bought a king ranch 5.0 4x4. I have a ecoboost fx2 and my 08 f250. The ecoboost is crazy for a stock truck and with the few mods i have it has ran mid 13s but the deleted and tuned f250 is faster I think. Yes I miss the room the sync remote start back up cam and the mpg but owell I will still have the f150 till sept when my lease is up.

if the tuner isn't unlocked to accept custom tunes how much does that cost to get it unlocked for custom tunes and do they just send you a file or do you have to send it in?

SCT? As long as it is returned to stock, it is unlocked, unless it says 0 unlocks left, then you have to call SCT and get an RMA and send it in. Im not sure what the cost is for that. If the sct is VIN locked (the previous vehicle was NOT returned to stock) You have to contact SCT and it is $150 and they will get you going.

I dont really understand what you are asking about it not unlocked to accept custom tunes though.

The tuner of your choice will email you a file (whatever tune you want) and you will load it to the sct via SCT Device Updater

I would hope your buddy isn't planning on getting anything done by that dealer on his new truck, I bet they will be less than overjoyed to see him once they figure it out.

I found out what the problem was. My 08 did not have the latest strategy fs0p30 it had the old 0h30je4. And the tunner was in need of a few updates. I updated the tunner today and it added a few new tunes and the tunes felt alot better. I think im still going to swap the sct for the h&s. My preown manger doesnt know the truck has a gutted cat and dpf and even told me that I should take the tunner out because we have better luck selling these low mile trucks stock. To bad it has to stay tuned and i cant find a cat and dpf to put on it.
