A buddy of mine on here installed a new non high output DieselSite pump in his early 04 CCLB KR. His truck has stock turbo and injectors. Said after he got it in, he still has long crank times. Got it to start but had to be cold. Got the EOT up to 180 degrees, shut it off and let it sit for 10 minutes and tried cranking it again and it just spun over. Called me and told me he realized he messed something up with the 0-ring and the d-ring and that he pulled it back apart, fixed it and still nothing. Its literally has to be dead cold for it to start.

what else could be causing this problem?

He plugged the wrong plug into the IPR...

I would bet he has the turbo warm up valve plugged into the IPR... Instead of the IPR wire....

Look at the wire connected to the ICP sensor on the head... the correct one is on that same part of the harness...

What the heck are you talking about? Turbo warm up valve? First i've heard of this haha. You sure you don't mean the VGT solenoid? And if you are....the VGT solenoid has nothing to do with a turbo warming up haha

Hi I'm Jesse and the one doing the work. Thanx Nic for atrting the thread or me. There is only on connection on my truck for the IPR. Just talked to Bob at diesel site and he said to try a IPR seal kit from Ford.

If everything hpos is deemed ok??? iv'e had trucks start fine cold, then a hit or miss no start hot. The spool valves would leak excessively, once warm, causing the system to not be able to build enough hpo.

other leak spots can also be the oring's in the top of the spool valve, where the oil rail spout engages the spool valve.

There's also o ring's in the rails themselves. If your buddy doesn't have the ability to pressurize the hpos, and have a bore scope,or equivelent to find the leak? he's pissing up a rail pipe.

Pretty sure he's talking about a 7.3, cuz those plugs are the same, he must not of seen this was in the 6.0 section

Ive ran into the same problem a couple times. Its always been the seals where the hpo rail goes into the top of the injectors.

shop air isnt enough pressure. i pressurize those systems to 3500 psi

Not true. I use a cylinder leak down tester set at 100 psi, and have never had a problem finding leaks with it. That aside I would definitely suspect the d rings in the spool valves. Seen way to many of those lately.

sent from the shop making things fly.....
