Swapped a 17+ turbo into my 2012 and noticed high exhaust back pressure. 20 psi until about 1300 rpm when it stsrts to build a little boost. My 2011 with stock turbo sees about 3-4psi of back pressure. I didn't change the tuning with the 17 turbo but I read I could run as is. Anybody have any experience with this?

I think you should try a tuning revision.

Just to follow up. It ended up being a dirty MAP sensor. Cleaned and it cleared up the high exhaust back pressure. I think it was clamping down the vgt trying to make boost cause the dirty MAP sensor wasn't reading the correct boost.
