Every once in awhile when I start my truck for the first time it will rev high when I give it fuel and barely want to move. The fan sounds loud and it just doesn't have power and it doesn't want to shift gears. If I let the truck idle for awhile these symptoms will go away and it will run like normal. My truck did this when it was new and Ford couldn't duplicate the issue so nothing was fixed. My truck now has a little over 90,000 miles and this issue is happening a little more frequently. Could this be a bad sensor? :fordoval:

Just curious, but how long is a little while that you have to wait for it to act normal? Are we talking 30sec-minute or 5-10 minutes?

Honestly without more information it sounds like both of my trucks waiting on fluid and pressure to build in the torque converter at startup for a few seconds before putting it in gear.

Its takes 1-3 minutes if I rev the motor a little. If I let the truck just idle it can take 5-10 minutes. It use to do this only in the mornings but now it will do it anytime. I use to think it was winter weather but it can happen in summer too. My transmission hasn't been serviced.

I would service the trans soon, sounds like the pump may be starving for fluid until it warms up and thins out.
