I've been running compounds on my DD for ~5 years now and haven't broken a shaft either.

Well, I will try it again without it.

Truck is torn down....it's the time to do it if I was gonna do it..thats all.

And with my chitty luck....if it could happen...for any reason....it WILL happen to me.

You can always just disable it if you don't like it and only be out the cost of the valve. Or better yet, just install a blockoff plate and sell the valve if you didn't like it, or feel it was worth it.

Try it.

It goes against principle on how a diesel operates, but after going through more than a few centersections by barking the turbo hard, I see there being a benefit if the blow off valve vents just enough volume to keep the turbo from barking. You don't need to have it open all the way and drop the boost gauge all the way to 0 but if you can just create a opening in the charge pipe right at the outlet of the hi pressure charger, and only vent what's needed, I can only see it being beneficial. You're thinking about it, you know you want to do it, you know your turbo(s) bark and you know its not good for them, so do it

You don't run one cuz yours vents off through the blown off boots.:flipa: LOL

At least my trucks run more than your do. Bet I can count on one hand how many days your truck ran last year. So before you flip someone off maybe you should make sure your crap runs.
