So I've been trying to compile a list of parts/processes to build a high HP daily driver and I'm sure I'm missing quite a bit.

Rods
Studs
Rods
Valve Springs
Camshaft
Machined and Coated Pistons
Fluidamper Balancer

What have I missed? What would you add or remove? I've read through a number of builds, granted most f them have been 6.4 and 6.0's. Anything different with the 6.7s besides few options.

How high of hp are you looking to get? Beacuse an aftermarket single should save the rods, plus if you put some more fuel to it then you should have decent power. It will take some trial and error to see if these setups will be reliable or not. Im running confederates 66mm kit and should have industrials 55% modded CP4 soon. So it should be a good test to see what it puts out and how long it lasts.

I don't think I have a specific number yet. But there's only so many times I can convince my wife that the truck "needs" this or that.

Your list plus Upgrade the push rods and throw some compounds on it BAM! Live action! Or just order a fully built stage 2 long block with stage 2 heads from SPE for $17k. Or send them your motor and they will build it for half that price.

Rods, cam, pushrods, valvesprings, ported heads, studs, machined coated pistons, balanced bottom end. i dont like fluid dampers. i would use stock untill ATI come put with one. of course fuel and air mods to what the pocket book allows!

I can get you most of those parts if you end up doing it.

Have they built anyone else's truck besides Matt's and their race truck yet?

Has anyone built multiples of 6.7 powered fords? I don't think that anyone has any room to call themselves experts at 6.7 powerstrokes. Last I checked though I think SPE has probably done the most. Unless there's someone else out there hiding that we don't know of.

I have done 2 6.7 engines. Nothing special valve springs, pushrods, arp studs and carillos all balanced and clearanced to spec.

There may be more out there than you guys think......

It does all add up quickly. You end up with about 7000 in parts including gaskets.
Another 1000 to replace bearings and rings, plus about 2000 in machine work.

Its kinda tough once you get into to say, meh lets just skip the block and head work and reuse bearings and rings.......

The carillo's are a good bit heavier than stock so you have to add about 300 dollars worth of tungsten or mallory to the crank to get a nice balance job.
