I kinda understand how hybrids work but not fully. Will someone edjumacate me.

What size hybrids can you run on stock oil?

When do you need dual pumps?

How do they actually work and compare to conventionals?

TIA for any knowledge you can share

I wish I had the resources to do some of that stuff. Doesn't really answer my need for knowledge =P

The idea of running a hybrid is that you don't need big oil. The intensifier pistons are at a lower pressure ratio, so they can squirt fuel out easier. So instead of the normal 7:1 on stock injectors they may be more like 5:1, which means you can push fuel out easier with the available oil, but you'll be running less pressure out of the nozzle tip. The older one's had a ton of issues with fuel dilution in the oil.

Someone will explain it better. I have a great idea of how it works in my head but can't seem to get it out of the keyboard LOL

Correct. That's why most will say that equivalent sized injectors, one being a hybrid and one being a conventional, both maintaining full ICP, the conventional will make more power.

All of the people who have viewed this and no one else responds... LOL

I'm sure this is by far the least technical explanation of hybrids ever.

Hybrids increase volume by bore not stroke, think of it as going .20 over in a cylinder bore. The diameter of the Barrel is machined.

Fuel volume is increased not oil. The reason why mike is saying you loose pressure at the nozzle is because youre moving more fuel without changing how much high pressure oil youre using. This is because the stroke length hasnt changed. This is all simple math of volume and area. If you're keeping stroke the same, say 175cc, and you bore out the diameter of the barrel depending how much is machined using the simple math you now have a say a 245cc fuel capacity that uses the same amount of oil a 175cc injector uses.

Those numbers are entirely accurate btw, just using numbers as reference, and flow with be determined by nozzle size, and tuning etc.

:confused:

Lol so is there a way to get the same atomization as you would with a conventional injector?

:whs::D

i'm running 255 hybrids in my truck with stock oil and maintaining damn near full ICP. They're pretty hazy but run perfect and no dilution so far.

why do you want injectors that big for daily driver? you can make a 1000 hp with 265 hybrids and spray if you have enough air and want a big number.

I'm throwing around the idea of F1C procharger S488 and some big sticks and all supporting mods of course. A friend and I have been through a few high hp street builds and really wanna push the limits of a street truck. I'm trying to get as much knowledge as I can though before the build starts
