Once I get home I will tack weld a small piece behind the switch itself so that you can remove one of the screws to hold it onto the mount.

Thats one thing I did not like about the old DP mount, it stuck out in front of the gauge.

Also will be working on a gauge type mount as soon as I can get down to portland and pick up some parts from Michael.

That bothered me also.

The new mount gonna hide the cable?

I dont see how to hide the cable with the side mount, but when I build the gauge cup one it will... Hoping to get the guts of a switch from Bill.

In my case I will more then likely put it on the steering column mount, simply because my scan gauge is about DOA so I dont need it anymore.

I like the way it looks.
But if your looking for a solid piece, I've had some great luck with fiberglassing.
Look up some how-to's online and fiberglass a nice mount built into your gauge pods. I'd be more than willing to fiberglass and paint something for you if you were to hot glue it into place, kinda like a template.

Joe, have you considered using ABS? With some heat I think you could bend it without stressing it and having problems. I have a bunch of 1/8" ABS sheet if you want a chunk to play with.
