Right, which would keep the heat in the heads and possibly reduce underhood temp. Maybe keeps the heads at a more uniform temp because cracking is due to temp differentials rather than average temp?

No not the whole head. I assumed the cracks he had been having issues with were in the valve area, where they "normally" crack.

Yeah I gotcha now, I saw something the other day where someone had actually coated the outside of the head so that's what I was thinking about

DONT DO IT!!! I have ran both of them. Bad luck with both of them.

The single rings stretched out and blew with around 600hp the first time I went WOT. It literally stretched the ring out right to the water jacket.

I also tried a VERY similar triple ring style, but with just two rings. They worked great for a couple thousand miles and the gaskets did not blow... but then at around 700hp I started to get a miss and found out the the rings started to break down and ended up bouncing around in my cylinders (i still think that is what Strokin6L is gonna find when he pulls his heads to find out why he has low compression). With multiple rings, the rings are so thin/small that they break down during the heat cycles over time. It cost me a motor.

Best option IMO is to find a way to run thicker upgraded castings like the 6.4 trucks do. That would fix most of our gasket issues.

NO matter what we do the heads are going to flex at WOT while pushing a lot of boost. Orings help the issue. Ford/international fixed the issue with 6.4 heads, if you put a 6.4 and 6.0 head side by side it shows that Ford beefed up the areas needed to fix the flex in between the studs.

I honestly don't think that's my issue Charlie! My rings are much thicker than the ones you posted. I found some metal flakes in my oil filter that stuck to a magnet. My issue I believe is a lifter...maybe stuck in the bore idk. I can hear a loud ticking noise coming from under passenger side valve cover. I've talked to some guys running the kit I have that have over 50k miles on the Hypermax kit with zero issues...and beat the piss out of their trucks. Hypermax did some extensive testing with this fire ring gasket kit Ron told me. Hell, I'd be buying Hypermax's kit again if they didn't redesign their rings. Install of the Hypermax kit is probably different that how you did yours also Charlie!

Why not just do a proven O ring and arp like myself and many other people that are making much more power than you?

Hell baileys truck went 11.80s on fuel and 11.40s on spray for over a year with standard arps and no O rings.

Not sure but I am running standard arps.. no orings as well for the past 2 years, engine is tight. Always on race files, driven some what hard and towed with multiple times. Current set up is below but with a 369 sxe turbo. No issues to date. All in the installation /prep work I believe. Don't know horsepower but I did dyno on a old vgt setup and hit 638hp. I'm higher than that probably.
