I must be getting old… Exhaust is too loud

Hey all. The drone from my MBRB 4” is killing me at highway speeds. The around town sound is the perfect 6.0 whistle and I don’t want to restrict it down too much. I’ve had the truck since new and the exhaust was installed shortly after. I’ve been looking into replacement mufflers and resonators. Anyone have success with knocking the drone out?

Thanks. Appears to have good reviews on XDP. Do you run this in conjunction with a muffler or as stand alone?

I currently run cat less and thinking to run the resonator in place of that.

Stand alone. There's no packing to go bad as well.

They do wear out. I've got a video of a 7.3 at 4k rpm with the above muffler. I'll see if I can find it.

So I finally got around to installing the Aero muffler I ordered. Fitting it into my existing MBRP system was a bit of a trick but ended up splicing it into where the cat once lived, engine side of the MBRP muffler, which I didn’t bother removing. Bonus was I removed 2’ or so of 3.5” pipe in favor of the larger 4” Aero.

I haven’t driven the truck but did start it in the garage. First observation was the general sound was greatly reduced. It seemed to have lost most of the jet engine noise as well . I’ll get the truck out this weekend to see how it sounds at highway speed.
