Thanks... Yeah he is wide. I don't like small narrow horses. No I don't rope off him.

My one headin horse is narrower than I'd like but he pulls like an ox and doesn't give up. I prefer stockier horses that can still move out.
Have a 2 year old filly that's gonna be built like a chit brickhouse, but don't think she's going to be tall enough for me. Guessin if she makes it to 15hh she'll be lucky.
Brutal Kevin... Brutal!!
Well, that IS what she said... LOL
You would point that out.
I am ridiculously bored at work. Half of my time is spent reading grants to check for grammar and spelling, as well as checking the tone and message we are attempting to convey. I catch a lot of poorly worded responses LOL.
If you haven't learned that I say that in almost any situation I can, you don't know me LOL.
Painfully aware...nazi :cursing:
A horse being wide up front has zero to do with quickness.
Just throwing that out there.

My barrel horse is a 16.5 hand 1200lbs. I've only had 2 under 15 h. ANYWAYS!

She means 16 and a half hands, lol.So he's 17.1hh????
For years all of mine have been at least 16hh. If I keep this one, she'll be my 1st shorty.
Lol, I completely understand what you're sayin. I was talking about my personal preference in conformation more than anything. I like them proportioned. I'm pretty sure we're on the same page about what we like. I can point it out on the horse and describe it, whereas you're Mucho better at writing out the description!!
Is that you in that pic?
This horse is 14.2 hands 1100lbs and can turn a +1 1/2(if you know reining's scoring system)
It actually has to do with where the legs come out of the shoulders and chest. Set wide, more effort to get around. Simply put, more ground to cover. Set forward out of the shoulder and it makes it hard to them to clear their knees, also tends to transfer weight to the front end due to simple geometric balance.

Yes, it is me. I like to keep them under 15 hands.
Damn you have a horrible memory LOL
