Notice the OP didn't ask about gearhead tunes at all, he just asked for reviews on the IDP tunes he purchased.

Everyone is so quick to respond, but extremely slow to fully comprehend what the OP is asking. Next time, maybe instead of bashing and commenting about what you like, you'll try reading the first post...

I had gearhead for a littlw while with my single. Erics tuned pulled way harder and spooled a lot better. Thats one thing I have a lot of respect for eric about. He'll build a truck and see what works best so you don't have the back a forth game. Matt never wanted to really crank to fuel I think because of smoke. I never got on it enough to feel how the trans shifted WOT though.

If you never got on it how was it going to spool the charger?

you can feel a power difference even at half throttle, don't be snarky.

my buddy had your tunes and had a number of issues including a no start. switched over to IDP. but hey, who's counting!?

Taking this to PM

And for the record I try to keep the truck's pedal feeling stock, some aren't used to that and feel it makes the tune inferior for some reason.

he was simply asking a question. hey if there is better product out there than what the op is asking about why not inform him? after all we are here to help the members out and give advice. maybe he didnt know about gearhead tunes? nothing against idp. ive ran both multiple times and gearhead tunes worked better on a stock setup and my single. guess what? my latest idp tune for my single caused my truck to lope so bad at idle i went back to gearhead.

Hey, if you want to call this helping the OP then by all means 'help him' by not answering the question at hand.

May as well ignore the question completely and just give your opinion, because that's what he wanted.

I love people who talk from their "buddy's" experiences instead of their own.... If your buddy knew Matt, he would know that Matt is just an email away and can/will fix any issue you may have. Personally, my tunes from him have been flawless.

I loved them on my 6.0L because his was the only tune that acted 100% stock until you hit the pedal. Cold starts were also same as stock, which was my only real complaint with my IDP tunes.

How are you helping the OP? I didn't see you give a review of your IDP tunes...

I have ran both, and ran both a lot. Gearheads have always been faster, and my truck seems to like them more. Innovative is what I first had and am currently running. I have the older 3.01 tunes and I do like some and not others. I have not ran the extreme x so I cannot comment, but I have always gotten best mileage with the extreme street. But I do have surging issues in all the extreme tunes. They delay lock trans tune is what I run most. I dont like race lock much because the converter is loose with that file. Really it seems to depend on the truck on what tunes run better.

I really like my idp tunes, seems to work well on My truck i have been wanting to get xtreme x but havent got to it yet but i know the xtreme race pulls hard, tunes gets pretty good fuel milage to, just took my truck on a trip on x street and got 21.1 mpg hand calculated then again my truck is a hand shaker so it might be a little different. Can't help you out on the tranny side but the engine files are strong and ill think you'll like them!

Do NOT update unless you absolutely have to. I loved the Xst but the current version for my truck sucks. I hate the DTC.

my IDP tunes are irrelevant because I have a single.

it's called reading. top to bottom, left to right. groups of words to make sentences. you're killing the game here, bro.

The X-Street gets great mileage in my 450 if I keep the speed down. Like I said before never ran the race. At 60 MPH to the coast and back unloaded got right at 19. Not too bad. The lie-o-meter was at 25. The street and tow both drop the mileage about 2-3 with each one. Lighter trucks may be different though. If I keep the speed at 65 and down it is fine. Once above 65 the mileage drops quick. I have 4.88's with a 34" tire, not something I would say is a MPG getter.

All I've ever ran was street. Been contemplating eirher getting the extreme X or going with some gear head tunes. I really like how hard street pulls but really getting tired of the surging. Post up how you like extreme X.
