HAve you confirmed by actually using a boost leak tester that you have no boost leaks. Also checked your up pipe connections high and low. If that is all good then it sounds more like you need your tunes fixed.

There are plenty of people running similar combos without issues.

You fellas run some really strong trucks....do you have before/after data that led you to this conclusion...or is it a case of you made a bunch of power on the stocker, and didn't see the need to spend the cash on a aftermarket IC. No agenda here other than to learn.

Don't see the need and the performance/$ is not worth it.

I make 925 rwhp on fuel only @ 90 lbs. of boost with a stock 99-00 intercooler. No IAT or EGT problems at all.

It's my first diesel so still trying to learn more.my tunes are from dp.John wood put the tuner and tunes on when he put my trans in.The pull of the big tires and stock gears takes some throttle to get up and move.I try to not let it get over 1200 on the pyro.I was told that was as hot as i should take it.

1200 to 1250 deg is a reasonable limit for any for more then a short burst to be safe.

Is your pyro mounted pre-turbo or post turbo. Makes a lot of difference. When I am racing, I don't even care what my EGT's hit, they are going through the roof.

Pre turbo is the standard for pyro mounting.

You need to check for boost leaks like Tarm said (in the boots, up pipes, etc).

What PSI are you seeing? Is it smokey?

If the truck is all sealed up, I would call Jody and tell him your issues so he can retune it for you.

You can probably still sell your stock intercooler too, so you aren't so much out of pocket.

At wot i can see 30 pounds of boost. But the egt climbs fast. The intercooler comes with new boots and pipes so i should see any issues when i pull it.I know i need to gear my truck but want a dana 60 first.I don't want to dump the money in my dana 50.

I have the digatal dp tuner with 9 settings. So i figured i was good on that.

Its only as good as the tunes that are on it, and I for one can say my current tunes run WAAAAAAY cooler EGT's than any comparable tune I had from Jody. (also more power, better shifting, more MPG and much quieter running engine )

just wondering, what size exhaust you have?? i see stock straight cut. if you went to a 4" exhaust it would help with the egt's also, and be cheaper than the ic.......

I don't think an exhaust is going to help with his power level.

I would call Jody like previously suggested. I think it's a tuning issue. When I had my first chip from TW, I could peg 1600 in a flash, after a reburn it would barely touch 1300.
