My vegistroke kit uses rubber fuel lines from the manifold up to the back of the heads, meaning they run RIGHT next to the up-pipes. Been that way for over a year. I know others have run them way longer. Eventually they seem to dry rot a bit from the heat, but haven't seen any melt or burn, yet. I am replacing it with SS braided hose with teflon sleeves. Just for peace of mind.

I've seen that pic already. But the shops that build RR kits...Elite, Strictly Diesel, Trusted....don't/haven't use pushlock hose. My vote is Dennis's kit at Strictly Diesel because he has the knowledge of fuel systems and puts together an awesome kit that he has spent countless time perfecting and building. Not someone who had a pipe dream of reinventing the wheel

Not trying to start sh1t but how after a fire like that can you pin point the cause to the RR? Just curious. Btw to whoevers truck that is I'm sorry bro. That's a real bad day.

fuel was leaking and it was running rough, he popped the hood and it went up. a fuel line melted on an up pipe. I attribute it more to installer error for not having pushloc routed away from the up pipes correctly, either way, this is the main reason why we use the materials we use in our kits.

I have never seen a 6.0 regulated return made out of pushlok besides a 6.4 or 7.3

Elite's stage 1 system is made from push loc style hose but they use banjos to the back of the heads, its just fine for the rest of the kit. I have pushloc from my pump to my y block and it runs right next to the exhaust manifold, still looks brand new except for being a little dirty. Been like this for 17k miles

Proximity to things like exhaust up-pipes is EXACTLY why we use CNC bent S.S. tubing in those areas....and have been for YEARS! Even our original 7.3L fuel system kits (circa 2001-2004), which had push-lok hose, had hand-bent S.S. Tubing sections!

Our 7.3L kits since about 2004 and ALL of our 6.0L kits have used the same US made S.S. over Teflon hose with CNC bent S.S. tubing sections in tight bend and high heat areas. You would be hard pressed to get one of our S.S. fuel lines to touch an up-pipe unless someone has bent it in a way it's not supposed to be bent.

I'm not sure who is still using push-lok on regulated return fuel systems these days, but anyone that is should be avoided because they are doing so at risk to their customers. I don't have a problem with it under the truck (feeding the pump for instance) because it's away from the heat, but it shouldn't be used for the high pressure lines on top of the engine.

It's usually harder to get the old plug out of the back of the head with the stupid allen tool than it is to get the new banjo installed.

Just installed a Driven diesel kit on mine last night...quality is good as is fitment....banjos o the back would have been a bitch if I didnt have my cab off..
