Is this a good Gooseneck? Load Max?

Are you kidding me, I don't know what kind of deals your finding! A 2008 Load Max gooseneck in any configuration up in this area for $3500 would be a steal. People think they are gold.

235/85-16 tires are cheap, and so is decking.

Weekendwarrior, lots of people flip the axles on their fifth wheel campers. Some people argue that the brakes on the axles do not work properly when reversed (flipping the axles). You should be alright flipping the axles in my opinion, you could always cut the perches and re weld them if your more comfortable with that option.

With any luck your coupler will be adjustable and with it at the correct height you won't need to flip anything.

They more than likely have that gvw of 10k plated on the trailer to keep them out of CDL territory even though it can physically do more than that.

$3500 isn't that bad of a price. The one major thing you have going against you is your in CA. Trailer prices are like gas prices, the further west you go the more expensive it gets.

He means, is the coupler adjusted all the way up into the tube?

Exactly. I am only 1" above stock and having it all the way in the tube works pretty decent.
My flatbed already sits 36" stock and I didn't want it to be any higher so I was going to to look at cutting the tube if adjusting the coupler didn't work cause it is already a steep climb onto the trailer. If you are just using it for trucks, the added height shouldn't be a problem, but I haul everything (including cars) so flipping them wouldn't have been a god option for me.

I like the loadmax trailer I pull, its a 44' 30,000lb rated one. If I was in the market for buying a gooseneck I would for sure consider loadmax, one of the best.

Then welded new spring perches onto the top of the axle to the springs could bolt onto it giving me 4 inch of lift to match the truck.

Im glad you decided to get it, they are great trailers. I actually just ordered a new one for myself with a taller neck to fit my lifted truck.

I paid 3500 for this one. Not with the container but it had 8000lb dual wheel axles no broke boards led lights and almost brand new tires with no dry rot at all. It's a 26' and doesn't have the dovetail tho.
