I am looking for a reasonably priced 3.31 rear axle. Willing to trade my 3.73 +cash if that happens to work out.... Thanks for looking.
Might be interested in your 3.73 rear if that helps any.

No sorry I don't. I have 3.73. Would look at using yours for another project.

Will the 3.31 ring and pinion not work in your axle? Or, can you not buy a numerically close ring and pinion? How much would that drop your rpm?? I have 3.73 and am 2k on the dot at 70..3.31's would be like....1500 at 70?
I do not think that the 3.31 ring and pinion will work in my axle.... correct me if I am wrong, but I thought mine would be a 10.25 compared to the 10.5 that the 3.31s come in. I have not been able to locate anything lower than a 3.73 for my axle in the aftermarket world (but I might not be looking in the right places either....)
Here are the numbers...
With my 285/60/18s running 75mph in 6th gear, I should be turning 2151 rpm with my 3.73s. With 3.31s, I would drop to 1909 rpm. If I could somehow find a 3.05 ring and pinion (which would be really cool, but I have never heard of such a creature) I would churn 75mph at a comfortable 1759 rpm.
3.31 was offered only in 10.25 and 11+ 10.5

Ok, so would my 03 have a 10.25 or a 10.5 axle. (I am still trying to wrap my head around this.)
Also, I don't think dropping to a 3.55 would make enough of a difference to make it worthwhile, That would only drop me down to 2047 vs. 2151
99+ have 10.5
