Leaking trans, what could it be?

Also check the flexplate for cracks. Take it off, it usually cracks under the center spacer.

Converter drain plug (if it has one) is also a common source, but it may also be the pump seal (o ring) leaking.

Good call Dave. Forgot about that. Hope that's it. In which case it could be a bit of yellow teflon tape to fix it. Pull the inspection cover. Pull the plug, stuff a golf tee in the hole, clean the plug and put a bit of yellow teflon tape on it, Pull the golf tee, replace plug, replace cover, clean up the mess and top off the fluid.

There is no converter drain plug. The last one was installed in 2001.
