if you have a lift, or access to one, the easiest way is just jerk the tranny, thatway, you can get at the whole mess and do a good job....

and if you don't, it's a complete PITAZZ

I pulled the turbo , did pipes, and installed in way less time than it takes to pull a trans I thought..4-5 hours or so. I also have 250ft of extensions and a friend to come help

4-5 hours ? ...LOL it only took my guy about 3 hours...without pullin' the trans..

least that's what he charged me for 3 hours....but he's young and a pretty good hand..... it would have taken longer to jerk the trans out, but it's a lot easier to do......

If the book says three hours, you pay for three hours. If it takes ten hours or twenty minutes, you still pay for three hours.

I hate pulling the trans on my truck. 2 driveshafts, tcase, crossmember then all the bolts holding it to the engine. I would much rather fiddle around it than pull it.

4WD does make it more time consuming. Working on the ground with the front wheels on ramps, I have had mine out in less than an hour before.
