I would say install at least a 4" turbo back kit, I prefer the way 5" sounds, but 4" is fine, and you will gain a lot of sound.

Nope. 4" downpipe is the biggest you can fit.
To the OP. If you pull the muffler and the thing in front of it you will get a ton more turbo sound, even with stock size.

Yes, is your truck not straight piped??? If not, thats your issue. But I thought it was

You can. On 2003 turbos, they pop out, on the later ones I believe you have to cut them out

Ya there is not cat. It's straight piped. I'll just wait and upgrade my turbo. Not about to take a cuttin wheel to my turbo.

I have a MTW stage 1. 63.5mm. I have a 5in turbo back on it and it is loud!

Ya te exhaust is stock size. I figured bigger exhaust just changed tone. As far as performance goes its all the same. The motor is bone stock except egr delete
