Ok well this just crossed my mind and I was hoping to get y'all opinion on it. I have read that when you install a Mini Maxx that the EGR valves need to be unplugged? I have been running around tunes with them plugged in, is that a problem?

only if you are running delete tunes. does it allow you to change the tunes with the sensors plugged in?

I am running DPF delete tunes. And by change the tunes, do you mean change the power level in the fly? I'd so then yea I can dial the power up and down as I please now.

i was messing with one a few days ago and it would not allow the power levels to be increased until all the sensors were unhooked. (H&S recommends having egr and egr throttle plate to be unplugged) also the egt will read crazy until the egr temp sensor is unplugged and replaced with one of the exhaust sensors in place of the egr supply tube or use the pch egt kit

Yea when I first ran the delete tunes my EGTs were all over the place so I just turned off the defuel for them and ever since then I've been able to adjust the power level. So should I unplug the EGR sensors?

I have my 2013 350 drw deleted, and Mini maxx. I also have the Pyro kit from H&S. the pyro kit, takes off a tube from teh EGR, and replaces it with block off plates (thus stopping the function on the EGR) and installs a temp sensor in one of the block off plates, to get accurate readings for the EGT monitor. I also had my stock exhaust (the space shuttle) hollowed, and re welded, and re installed, with ALL SENSORS plugged in. Zero changes form when I had the delete pipe with no sensors plugged in.

Your EGTS are all over the place because you did not install the H&S Pyro Kit. You will likely get readings all the way up to 1500 or so, just at idle...

I understand that, I don't have the EGR block plates yet so I know my EGTs would be crazy. What I'm wondering is if I should go ahead and unplug the EGR sensors and let them hand until I get some block plates.

Hmmm... I don't see them doing any damage if left plugged in. And if you go with the block off plates and another sensor, they will be unplugged and left hanging (like mine are now) so I suppose either way isn't going to hurt... When we first deleted mine, that is what I was told to do, unless I got the Pyro kit... LOL I wouldn't sweat it too much, and just changed the PIDs that you are monitoring on the Mini Maxx to something that you can monitor...

And most of my first reply was to Power Struck, as far as having all of the sensors either plugged or unplugged.

Yea that's kinda what I was thinking, just wanted to get some more input on it. I'll get the block plates later when my warranty is further gone. Just don't want to have to mess with a lot of reinstalling stock parts if something was to go wrong.

Once I saw the block off plates, I had no trouble deciding to put it on... It is just a few bolts, and she goes back on in no time... Keep the EGR tube handy, but it will amaze you at how easy it goes on...

So does your exhaust appear stock, or can you see the re weld?

I deleted it at 3,000 miles, so the exhaust still looked pretty new. I had my guy cut on the welds, and re weld it to look factory. It has been back on there for 400 miles, so I would imagine in another 1,000 or so, it will be able to pass for factory, even to a watchful eye.

I probably read the exact same thing as you where someone said you need to unplug those 2 plugs, and at first I wasn't worried. Then it got to me and I took the 10 minutes to unplug them to make myself feel better. I found where earlier on with the 6.7s a very small percent of the guys that didn't unplug them had some issues.

I unplugged mine, and when I installed my dads this weekend I unplugged his as well, just for peace of mind. If H&S went to the trouble to put it in the instruction manual, I figure it's a good thing to do.

So can I just unplug then now or would I need to retune the truck and all that good stuff
