Yep take you time and separate each wire just enough so you can look carefully. Given you tried another IDM if the wires turn out clean and another OHM out shows it all good. I seems like it would almost have to be mechanical. Honestly if you do have the VC off again IMO it would be well worth it to borrow a compression tester. Even if everything turns out good on it you now have a base value to use for comparison if you ever have an issue down the road. I would certainly move the injectors around to see if the issue follows and you can inspect the o-rings at that time as well.

I put in a good engine wiring harness and no more open side codes. Passed buzz test and idles ok. I do have a P0198, P0475, P0541 & P1690. When I do a CCT I get a P0541 & P1184. I get a EOT of 212*-4.81v with a idle of 1.3-1.4ms pw, 543psi ICP & 11.8% DC for those who are curious. I no longer get a "buck" or "hesitation" under throttle but now more of a "popping noise". I might have a boost leak or exhaust leak. It sounds like its queffing at idle. I will have to figure that out too.

I figure you know these but figured I would put it down so people that actually take the time to use the search functions can find this info.

P0198 is either a bad oil temp sensor or its a short in the wiring or connector going to it. That wiring harness many times is stretched tight so it may have pulled a wire out.

P1184 is EOT out of range and likely has to do with the above issue with the EOT sensor.

Given tuning takes eot into account it could be part of your issue with how its running.

P0475 that is just the ebpv that you deleted when you installed the t4 turbo. You can install a resistor? 470 ohm 0.5-1 amp that can prevent the code but its harmless either way.

P0541 just the AIH which again is nothing like the P0475 could be handled the same way.

P1690 waste gate solenoid like the other two above same deal.

If you think you have a boost leak make a boost tester out of a pvc end cap with a hole drilled in the top of it. Screw a air comp fitting into it. But a popping sound seems more like exhaust side. Maybe a leaking up pipe connection? With a new turbo install you very well may have leaks from both sides boost and exhaust. One place to check could be the down pipe vband clamp to the turbine. If that is not tight or lined up rightt could be leaking and I could se it making a popping sound.

Thanks Tim!
I often over look stuff. The EOT sensor was unplugged. :fustrate:
The only code I get now is a P0281 while running the CCT (besides the harmless P0475, P0541 & P1690). I am going to run to town and pick up stuff to make a better boost leak tester. Mine pops off the comp housing @ 10psi. So I will report back with what I find.
On a side note I took it out again with the sensor plugged in and if I press on the skinny pedal and "lug" the engine (1500rpm) in 6th gear it skips a beat. I notice in the daylight now I am getting black smoke when before in this tune it did not smoke, could be a boost leak though. This turbo does light rather well at low RPM.
Well I am going to go check for boost leaks and exhaust leaks. If everything checks out I am going to pull the VC and do a compression check for chits and giggles so see where i'm at.

Well it is up and running.....well sorta. My plenum boots don't like to stay on at 40psi. I need to order some new valve cover gaskets as mine do not like to hold the outside connector.
Basically I must if had air in the hpop system from a ipr and icp change so I ran the chit out of it and runs good like it did before. Single disk clutch gives me the finger yet
Thanks for every ones help.

You probably had a air bubble under the ICP sensor or like you said just in the system somewhere and it had to work its way out.

Glad you got it worked out.

I have one more questions. The truck is doggy down low. Is DC% suppose to fluctuate at idle? I get a solid 15.23% with icp about 690. Usually ICP is lower then that around 500. Possibly a sticky IPR? With the pedal all the way down I get 2180 psi at 33%dc. I use to be able to hit 3k no problem.

Ipr or icp. Make sure to use only motorcraft parts for those if you do not want an increased possibility of trouble

Idle is too high and yes. 2100 is very low and no surprise its a dog.

Its funny that it ran so dang good until I popped a plenum boot off. Fixed it and now its doggy. I bought one off fleabay a year ago when I was having similar problems and it fixed it. I suppose dirty oil makes them sticky? I only have 500mi on the oil change.

Seems like it was more than just a boot. Maybe the boot is all you noticed? Makes you wonder if its all connected in a series of events; domino like

New IPR did the trick! Hopefully she is cured for awhile. I took the old one out and there was a few specs of dirt on it. Anyone have success cleaning these? Apparently my spare I cleaned was still sticky. I need to get some miles on this thing.

Well I wish I didn't have to keep going back to this thread. I found something interesting. My plenum screen is missing on the passenger side head. I took the plenum off and half of it was in between 3 & 5 runners. The other half is MIA.:lookaround: Do the valves open up enough to let a say 2"x2" screen in? I checked down by the valves and didn't see anything. I guess I am at a loss of what to do, other then check compression numbers. Truck runs good other wise.

Uh oh. Maybe you can try to fish it out with a piece of wire. It has to be in there somewhere unless it has passed through already.
