Here's how I did mine last weekend. I've been reading on this and there's a lot of discussion about being vented to the atmosphere but so far I have had no oily residue or problems. I have had the same setup on my 6.0 for quite a while now with no problems. I would eventually like to plumb it into my exhaust but there seems to be a lot of variables so, I'm just going to wait for now. I am using a true 1 inch hose though which is what the factory system uses to begin with. This is speculation on my part but I believe the guys that are having trouble with venting it to the atmosphere and building up pressure and/or blowing oil all over the bottom of their trucks are choking it down to a smaller size hose? I did not use heater hose though, do yourself a favor and go down to tractor supply or somewhere that sells fuel hoses and buy a 1 inch fuel transfer hose. They're made to hold up against petroleum products. It'll cost you a little more but hold up better.

I have been wanting to do mine for a while now. Might just do it today if I have some time. Looks great BTW

Thanks. Before someone asks the hose that comes of the oil fill resevoir is from a smog pump that had been removed from a 86 GMC 6500 truck. Imagine that, more emissions BS that just caused problems that got taken off and thrown in the corner???

Do you have anything on the end of the line or just left it open?

Mine was ok for a while. But after towing for a while. I get off the highway and the ccv looks like a smoke stack. Never a drip or spot on the floor, But a constant haze. I actually notice it at stop lights. My 6.0 trucks never did this

It seems like some guys have a hit or miss on whether running just an open hose making a mess.... is every engine going to have a different result? Or does towing and hauling play a part in whether an open ccv hose makes a mess?

Mine doesn't make a mess at all. But the haze is bad, and the smell is getting old. I have actually had people ask if my truck was on fire

Haha, I wanna get mine done. Just trying to get a plan together before I start moving things. Should that breather just mount on the frame where there's room?
