'03 manifolds have the least restriction but include the super super crossover tune under the turbo, which doesn't help it as much as you'd think. The '04 manifolds have an external EGR casting that keeps flow contained in the runners themselves but it has castes walls in the runner inlet of the left and right bank that cuts the inlet opening by almost 40% percent. The 05-07 manifolds are the most restrictive units made. They have an integrated EGR casting with some really goofy casting pockets in the EGR casting. They also have integrated air scoops around the EGR valve to help grab the charge air off the inlet to mix with the EGR gasses. Very restrictive pieces. The runners don't have near the inlet issues as the 04 manifold does. Unfortunately the casting is still insanely prohibitive to performance. Cutting one of these apart at the runners reveals a lot. Cutting them in half throughout exposes every area equally as counter productive as the runners, in the intake throat. Little intake lesson there lol. OP, nice work. I'd suggest getting the manifold in a jig of somesort when it is welded and cooling after. These things do warp on a free stand.
