To the best of my knowledge there are only a few diminished value States in the us because vehicles are assumed to be repaired to industry standards...and if they are there's no loss in value...but you know like I do it doesn't always happen that way...
Most all will agree...2 identical trucks...ones been wrecked one hasn't...you'll go for the one that hadn't been wrecked

Herein lies the problem. Industry standards usually fall well short of "off the line" standards.
You hit the nail on the head. Any vehicle that's been in even a minor accident that shows up on a report is worth less than an identical vehicle that hasn't been in an accident. Think about two 100% identical trucks sitting side by side on a lot. Price is the same for both and you're told one was in an accident. Which vehicle would you buy
But to my knowledge, diminished value is applicable in all states unless an insurance company specifically prohibits that type of coverage.
