Ok, goin on a trip tomorrow, about 500 miles. Leaving my moms house tonight, I tried to put the truck in reverse, but it wouldn't move. And the steering wheel wouldn't turn. I put it in drive and it seemed fine. So I go to the gas station to fill up. I get there try to put it in park, but it will only go as far as reverse, no park. So i only have reverse, nuetral, and drive. And there is alot of play in the shifter between the three positions. I also found a bolt laying on my floor board that wasn't there before tonight.It still drives and shifts fine.
So my questions are 1) what happened? 2) should I take it on the trip?
The truck is a '99 F-250 7.3 with auto trans. Thanks in advance for any help.
