I bought a 2010 lariat fully loaded cc sb 4x4 with 101,000 miles for 30,000 otd. I owned a fully deleted Cummins 6.7 so not a complete noob. I've been on all the different forums and this seems to be the nicer one with out all the drama. I'm not 100% sure on what tuner yet. I've heard nothing but great things with gearhead tunes. Looking at buying all four tunes for 250. I'm going fully deleted but I'm not sure if the sct ts competition tuner for 1100 does deletes or not and if it requires bungs. I'm going to go with Flo pro 5"tbe, no limit intake, and I think the Flo pro egr delete with intake horn and cac tube. Mainly because its a lot cheaper then no limit and it looks like it will do just as good of a job and come with egr delete for 425. Looking at batmo wheels but not sure if I should just wait to do elite turbos? I'm also looking at head studs, can those be done with the cab on? Any other info or ideas on using different parts is much appreciated.

If I would be buying a tuner now, I would go with the mini max with gearhead tunes and it does not require bungs

Would I need the mcc tuning? And I heard that the h&s comes with tranny tuning, if so doesn't gearhead utilize there own. I know Spartan charges an extra 600 for tranny tuning, which is crazy considering hs is 1800 and its shift on the fly. I would just hate to drop 2250 on just a tuner with gh tunes. I remember back in 08 my xrt, 5"tbe, egr delete, and intake cost me 1300. Lol crazy

You can do it way cheaper than that... just a hint, you don't need a race/high sulfur tuner to run MCC

It would help if you give us an idea of what power level you're looking to achieve. If you go further than batmowheels you will certainly need to plan on building the transmission and fuel system. I'd suggest Spartan's tuning and definitely doing the deletes. Their tunes are very efficient and you'll see a big mpg increase. Stock transmission will hold the 275 tune well and 310 tune if you don't abuse it. From there you can develop an opinion on whether or not it's worth throwing on a bigger turbo setup which will likely need the billet transmission parts. The stock torque converter will often hold well until you start making close to 600rwhp. And the Spartan 310 tune will run well with the bigger turbos from what I've heard. Head studs would be a good idea if running the 310 tune daily and can be done cab on. Matt at Spartan has really hit the nail on the head with his latest tunes. My buddies on 275v4 is an animal and averaging around 18mpg hand calculated. The bigger the tires and lift the more stress you'll be putting on the truck so that's something to consider as well.

I'm just looking for a fun DD that will get good mileage and haul a$$ when I want it to. Its leveled on 35's no intention of lifting it higher. I found a used black max with sinister egr delete for 1700. Is that a good deal? Would it plug right in and work or would I need a vin unlock? So are the batmowheels worth it or not. I know the wicked wheel 2 worked wonders on my 7.3. And does anybody know if the sct ts comp tuner dpf and egr delete capable. I know the 600 dollar one isn't.
