How much does your 185amp alternator make at idle hot? Is it even able to maintain full charging voltage at night with the AC and lights on when you are at a stop light? You really need 90-100 amps at idle to keep everything happy. Add some stereo or more lights and you will see stuff start to dim until you get back on the throttle.
It makes 128 typically. Varies a bit due to AC or other accessories running. But I have no stereo system or emergency service lights. Just my snowplow and I never see a V drop at idle when the pump runs.
Charges at 14.4-5 never less never more.
I never see the lights dim with my plow HID lights on, my other running lights, and the plow pump running at idle. And my plow pump is 3X the size as the starter motor. Quite surprised really. AC compressor doesn't use near the current as the plow.
