I am new to the forum and new to the 6.0 PowerStroke. What a surprise this has turned out to be! I have been a huge fan of the F series my whole life, and while out shopping... to come across an 07' F-250 6.0 Crew FX-4 with only 53k miles? And it was in my price range... I could not believe my luck. I wanted to go home and do a little research, but was worried it would be gone when I came back. It had not even been put out on the lot yet, so this one owner gem was mine! Oops! Should have done the research... I had it 4 months and cleaned the EGR 3 times (replaced it once), yanked the top of the motor apart and upgraded the ERG cooler and Oil cooler, replaced both fuel filters (motorcraft), replaced the oil filter (motorcraft) as well as Rotella full synthetic oil. New clamps for the exhaust/turbo and exhaust/ERG. Dipped and cleaned the intake, new gaskets - bolts - torqued correctly. And I was quite proud of myself for having done my first Diesel repair and saved myself over 2k in the process! After the job was done... It has been a couple months since the repair and now a new problem has reared it's ugly head. Welcome to the forums. Fellow Las Vegas resident here. While you had it that torn apart you should have removed the EGR system all together. Saved you the headache later on.
