I've been a car guy forever and have just recently started on a diesel project. My knowledge with diesel engines is limited so I figured I would go to the pros. I am by no means a professional mechanic but I have built several one of a kind vehicles in the last 10 years. I always try to do what people say can't be done. Like my 1989 Nissan 240sx that I swapped with a Ford 302 V8, or my supercharged dodge intrepid 3.3. I've even went the rock crawler route with a full custom SAS Toyota 4runner.

My newest project requires some know how that I have yet to acquire. I got my hands on a 1950 Hudson Pacemaker that needs lots of work. I initially had the idea of a simple ,quick swap with a 302 and aod that I have laying around in the garage. I quickly changed my mind when I found a Ford 6.8 V10. I was ready to get to work on the swap but had to sell the engine due to unforseen medical expenses. Some time went by and I eventually came across another great deal. A 1998 econoline van with a 7.3 powerstroke turbo in it. I bought the whole van running and driving with 95k miles for $200.00!!!

I'm sure you have guessed by now what I'm up to. Yep. The world's first Powerstroke Diesel powered 1950 Hudson Pacemaker.

I have already started on the swap. Harness, firewall modification, transmission tunnel, Trans crossmember, engine mounts (still trying to figure out the drivers side),ect.ect.ect.

As I stated above, I came here to get some helpful advice and to get the daily motivation that is so needed with a project of this size. I will be making posts soon on some questions that I have but until then I will get some pics for you.

Thanks ,
-M
