What are the chances of the IP just going out like that?

Well anything can happen, just depends on how old the pump is.

Push the schrader valve on the fuel filter head and crank the engine to see if you're getting any fuel to the fuel filter, if you are then loosen one injector line at a time and crank the engine and see if you're getting fuel to the injectors, doing this will also work out any air that might be in the system.

If you're not getting fuel to the injectors, but you are getting fuel the the IP I would say the pump gave out.

If you are getting fuel to the IP and you are also getting fuel to the injectors I would say you have huge air leak somewhere.

In that case my guess would be the return lines, or it could also be the old fuel water separator mounted on the drivers side fire wall (silver fuel filter looking thing) if it is still hooked up.

Depends on where you get it and what deals you can find, might check fleebay and see what they got.

Check and see if this thing is still hooked up on the drivers side firewall.

Yes, it's known for letting huge amounts of air in the fuel system.

To make sure that is the problem before buying all the stuff to get rid of it, just try bypassing it for now and see what happens.

Ok I was wondering if the pickup tube in the tank could break off and not let it pick fuel up?

Yep, happens all the time.

If that was the case it would need at least 1/4 tank full to get any fuel.

Jamb a bolt in the drain tube. This will stop the air leak.

Ok I found out the fuel pump isn't hiting the crank the one I took out and the aftermarket one the rod that drives it are different. So I ordered one from ford so we will see if that ones different
