sweet... but yea before i even break filter loose i put a punch through the bottom and let it drain... it takes half the time to drain the filter than it does the crankcase.

I also make good and sure the old gasket comes off with the oil filter. It makes a huge mess if you try to use two gaskets.

Even the video pretty much proved the need to punch a hole in the filter and drain it.

He said he never had it run down over his arm like that or something to the effect, unless I punch a hole in it that happens to me EVERY TIME! LOL

Definitely, and thank you! Already helped a new guy, and he learned the hard way that not prefilling the filter makes the truck run rough. And in his case it shut off :fustrate: No oil for the injectors! Them injectors are thirsty :pint:

Never thought about puncturing the filter before.. Thanks guys! LOL definitely going to have to try that because a BIG mess is usually the result if you just turn it off slowly

Yes they are...I have done it both ways. Pre-fill and not, I usually pre-fill on my pickup, but never do on my big rigs...

So you just put 2 quarts in the filter and the remaining 13 in the pan?

Yupp. You cant get all 2 quarts in the filter at once. You pour it in, let the filter element absorb some, the level will go down and you can add more.
