Is their supposed to be any type of gasket around the remainder of the cooler that doesn't have the oring grooves?

No. I would get a whole new oem oil cooler. $300 with new gaskets. Screw putting new gaskets only to find it leaking again.

Replacing the cooler would be best. Even if it fixes the leak with just the gasket youll be kicking your own ass when it plugs up enough to throw the p012f and then you gotta chang the cooler anyway. I would also flush it with vc9 from ford to get any crap out of the system that may be in there.

Anybody ever took off the two smaller fuel bowl banjos and drivers side head fuel return banjo and set them on the bench then look back at them and theres 3 banjos the same side and 7 washers? I have two per bolt plus one?? I'm clueless to where the extra came from. Maybe one had 3 on..
