one more question---If the orings are in good shape(just changed them) can I reuse them and just change out the copper washers?

Injector cups are not the issue as stated earlier, I would check that all the injectors are seated properly, if so pull the injectors and inspect the bottom o-rings and make sure they all have a copper washer on them. Make sure there isn't any extra copper washers down in the injector bores

Ok I got new orings and copper washers last week and got everything installed last night. When i pulled the injectors all the orings looked fine--#3 copper had some black crap push past the tip and had a small amount in the cup. Checked with a straight edge before and everything was flat( number 2 was a tad (like 1\32" higher than the other).

Installed the injectors again--everything seated, flat and torqued to 120 in\lbs. removed all plugs, purged the cylinders rotating by hand, then cranked with the starter to finish and get fuel in the injectors. Put back togethere and the truck started up fairly quickly(4'th key cycle) All the injectors are spitting oil out. Put the covers back on and ran it for about 15 miles with a bunch or WOT runs. CC tested it and #7 came in low. Figured it still had some air in it. Used it for work this morning-about 40 miles and there is a miss now. The oil level is up again about 1\2" above the top fill mark(changed the oil last night and it was about an 1\8" unde the full.

These injectors were rebuilts with only 5,000 miles (previous install and removal where done by Marty) Hand delivered to me so I doubt there is any damage from that.

Could it be something internal leaking between fuel and oil? I doubt I could have f'ed up twice with the same results--its pretty straight forward. Thanks for all the help so far. Anyone want to buy the truck--looking at a Ranger now!

And to top it all off, the truck shut off twice on the way home! ICP was all over the place (between 100 and 800) and IPR was in the upper 80's. I unplugged the ICP and truck ran decent--at least to get me home.
