[QUOTE="TyCorr, post: 573516, member: 1451"] I live in IL, faststop.right down the street, agview fs next door, never seen it. For a little.clarity in this thread, if you want to run synthetic oil stick with whats been tested, used, and verified as synthetic oil. Sorry guys, rotella.does not make synthetic oil. They put a bunch of.crap into petroleum or.blended base stock and.call it synthetic. Why isnt it cheaper if its lacking the expensive part of what makes synthetics costly? All this said: valvoline extreme blue 5w-40 is superb, as is mobil 1 full syn 5w40 turbo diesel. Schaeffers has a.huge.following too but I cant vouch for it but would run it if I were forced to.order oil in bulk. Royal purple and amsoil arent worth the money, imo, and yes Ive used both. Sure some people have good luck.with amsoil but some.dont so lets not recommend something as such. Royal purple is crap for our trucks with heui systems. When it comes to conventional, dino, petroleum oils use.what works.FOR YOU. My truck.ran 230ish something thousand.miles, troublefree, on pennzoil 15w40. I never had any trouble with oil quality until I had.custom tunes installed. Then I would notice oil shearing and hot idle was.choppy a nd bla.bla. I have since used delvac and delo400 and honestly.the delo.400 was one.of.my.favorites bar none. Depending on the.cold.weather starts with it, I may not go back to synthetic. But if I do it'll be Mobil 1. EVERY other vehicle we own runs mobil 1 synthetic oil. The Lincoln LS gets 5w20 and a bosch filter(i cut.filters open and if I don't like what I see they dont get used again). The van gets 0w20. The eclipse gets 5w30(although im not sure what the new motor will call for)goThe 69 bronco gets 10w40. My cars all have big miles on them. Im blathering but synthetic oil is so expensive you would be well served to ho with something known good. We had a good oil.conversation with a good source of info at "that other site" back in the day and the cummins blue(valvoline extreme blue) was pretty well rounded.compared to others. Just sayin.
