oil temp/ coolant temp

After reading this thread I got a little worried. When I got in my truck after work I set my mini-max to view coolant temp and oil temp. The difference between the two indicates my oil cooler is plugged. Once warmed up and cruising down the highway at 65-70 my coolant was 185ish F and my oil got up to 233F. Should I park it until I can fix it next weekend? I'm new to the 6.4L, bought it 2 weeks ago and I'm scared to mess it up.

If it was my truck..... I would park it.

I think fords Max delta spec for the 6.4 is 20*...15* for the 6.0

But in a utopian world you would have 0* difference...the closer the better

quick question, at cruising temperature, my two deltas are bang on, bout 1-2 degrees apart. when the truck is still technically warming up, coolant jumps up to operating temp much faster, and its normally 10-15 degrees warmer then oil. my truck runs about 190 coolant temp and 192 oil at cruising. coolant will jump to about 197 then settle down to 190-191 until oil catches up.

is it normal for the coolant to jump like that? its just recently started doing this. previously both would warm up within 2 degrees of each other. coolant also jump temp wise a lot more when im in the throttle, itll jump to 197 but oil will only jump about 1 or two degrees from its crusing temp of 192. possibility of the coolers going out?

the truck did throw a egr stop min/max code about a month or so ago. i cleared it twice and, ran a load of round bales for a buddy and it hasn't come back on yet. feel like it was just gummed up and runnig the truck harder took care of that..

anyways, coolant/coolers fine?

The two temps are going to be off while the truck is warming up. Think of it this way. The coolant warms the oil. But the vecosity of the coolant is far less then the oil. Oil is way thicker, thus, takes longer to warm up. If they are 5 degrees apart when the truck is fully warm. You are fine. Sometimes mine are 8-10 degrees off when towing heavy. Bu unloaded they are 5* apart

Got everything back together and drove home tonight. I replaced a few things while the cab was up to include;
New belts
Fuel filter
Switched to 5-40 Valvoline synthetic
Oil filter
Flo-Pro EGR delete with elbow
New thermostats
new coolant
New oil temp sensor
Radiator hose o-rings
Sinister coolant filter kit
switched out my 4" exhaust for a new 5"
and of course a new oil cooler.

On the ride home the biggest temp difference I saw was 6 degrees. I'm happy now. I would have liked to replace the radiator and do the heads but the bank account wasn't in agreement.

figured it was something like that, i feel like im just notice it now and the coolant is getting warmer then it used to be, i think realistically im just paranoid because its almost got 100k on it and its been bone stock its whole life and i want to tune it, but i dont want to at the same time. and i dont want to open up a can of worms if everything is perfectly fine for now, even though I hate stock
