Ok. Long needed update...

As the truck sits now it has the complete front clip swap and bed fitted on the truck. Its temporary as it will all come back off when it goes to be painted. Only thing left to do now is fix the cab and have a windshield put in it. The cab appears to be a fairly straightforward fix and I can't see it being too difficult. Problem is, now the truck has developed a case of injector failure... Heavy raw fuel smoke, fuel in the oil, sounds like it has a den of rattlesnakes under the hood. Soooo, since the project has been slowing down lately as we prepare for the winter months and 24/7 customers needing their own vehicles fixed - I'm considering selling it. Any suggestions on a baseline price? Its 100% rust free and looks identical to the brighter blue F-350 in the pics minus the lift, is very well assembled and not hobbled together what-so-ever. I dont know, it still needs alot of work to achieve what goals I had set for it but it isn't far off from being a one of a kind DD. Let me know what your thoughts are...

Any ideas on what it will take to fix the issues? To me with as much work as you put in it'd be a shame not to finish but understandable.

BTW why'd you delete the pic of your wife with the 6637?

LOL Musta got deleted in the photobucket cleanout a while back!

And to finish it its gonna need the top cab skin spot welds drilled and the cab top pulled & replaced. I can supply a donor top for roughly $100. Will also need a new windshield, some interior trim pieces - I was gonna rob an Eddie Bauer truck at the local salvage yard to replace the interior. Seat needs replaced - I had planned on having it custom reupholstered. Needs a few very VERY minor dings/dents repaired before paint. (3 or 4 quarter-sized) I don't know why, but I really wanted a hood stack so I've got one hood cut with a 7" stack mounted and the blue cowl hood also goes with it. Pretty sure its gonna need injectors. Everything else is ready to go. Tons of new parts. Really should sell the 8" lift and the DANA 60 with it if it does go... but I don't know if I want to part with any of my kingpins. :(

Well I couldn't part with it and decided to go a different route so these past two weeks we tore the whole thing back apart save cab and drivetrain. I finished up the cab top and now am waiting on a windshield. All the body lines are near perfect and I ended up putting a new door on the passenger side because of an accidental whack from the skid steer. I have re-installed a whole new front clip from a 92-97 f-series and now need just a header panel, lights, and the interior trim pieces. Seat should be getting re-upholstered this coming week.

Still having an issue with injectors. Anyone rebuilding their own injectors? I'd like to but have no idea how to test them to see which ones need rebuilt and if they are flowing correctly once I'm done?

Hopefully we get this finished and ironed out by Jan. because we plan on giving it to one of the guys at the shops father for his birthday. He was injured and lost his wife and truck in an accident earlier this year. We are working with a professional airbrusher and plan on painting a mural of him and his wife riding their horses either on the tailgate or on the side of the truck.

It would be nice to get it ready by then, so any ideas on the injector rebuild fellas? Who sells a quality rebuild kit at a decent price and is it even worth attempting? If so, I'm all for tearing some of em' apart! Thanks guys!

I am thinking about a full mural on the bedside etc. Its not going to be a hack job as far as the air brushing goes - it should look really good from what I've seen so far. The only reason I'm not sure of the tailgate mural is because his last truck had the louvered 5th wheel tailgate and I'm thinking we will use the same style on this truck. As for the injectors, i've heard lots of positive things about Rosewood I may give them a ring tomorrow. Thanks hound!

Well, financial hardships and unexpected twists slowed the project down somewhat considerabley. I never did get with rosewood on the injectors. Unfortunately, Christmas Eve the man we were planning on giving the truck to took his own life. One of our guys said he had expressed his pain both physically and mentally for quite a while prior. The trucks back together now just sitting for the winter and I will post up some pics in the spring when it goes in for paint.
