You can somewhat get a little better fuel economy if you keep your truck suspension and tires stock. But they are real sensitive to anything over that

Mine will be a 2wd dually. Stock tires. Maybe a slightly lowered custom airbag setup all the way around. But the motor will have upgrades.

Any updates Golf?

We made some changes..

swapped from the stock turbos to a compound setup we fabricated...S366 high pressure, S475 low pressure. both wastegated (externally).

also installed our ported intake manifold, and some other parts inconsequential to this discussion. (fire ringed heads, studs, springs, pushrods)..

but we kept the injs/HPCR pump untouched (stock)

mileage increased 2.5mpg...and that was with some pretty heavy beating on it (maybe one or two 50-100+mph bursts each day..in addition to a couple of hours on a chassis dyno, which showed 90hp increase over stock chargers, btw @ 630rwhp).

I know this isn't anything near an ideal 'back to back' comparison...but the lack of boost on extended highway driving (no VG)...has GOT to be the main factor in the significant increase in mpg...

we won't be doing any more 'mpg' friendly modifications to this truck..but I'll update should the numbers change significantly with any future modification.

Golf, did those numbers disappoint you? Meaning I would expect that parts list to add more then 90whp. I know you are still on stock fuel, but I just figured that would add more.

My 08 2wd standard cab long bed that is deleted gets between 12-13.5 rural with shorter drives on the highway. I have taken a 80% highway and only knocked down 18 and I was trying to get good mpg. Im wanting to change out the 3.73 to some 3.31s and see what happens.

Its been said the 3.31 gear is to high. I have 3.55s in my 09. 3.31s cause the RPMs to run way to low at highway speeds. I turn 2100 RPMs at 80MPH, and about 1400RPM at 45MPH. Aparently its to hard on the engine turning that low(with 3.31s).

What size tires do you have?
I thought about that. Our Ex. runs 1900 at 80 and it does just fine with almost half the HP and one ton more weight.

no, not disappointed at all.

We're going to swap the LP (just wheel and cover) to a billet 80mm...and play with some nozzles.

We didn't spend any amount of time tuning this combo, since stretching out the injection duration tends to be hard on pistons...so we're going to wait (to push on it) until we add nozzles and a pump.

if I was going to daily drive this setup (with stock fuel), I would shrink the HP charger to a 64mm, and probably still jump up the LP to an 80..it would be a bit more responsive.
