why not just do custom SCT tunes with emissions removal and a drop in 65.5 vgt turbo from midwest? If you are upgrading injectors, i'm pretty sure your stock bottom end will say no to that....

Any over sized injectors was looking at 33% over stocks from s&s, my retired daily single turbo 08 was Spar-tan tuned at 56k with only studs gaskets and normal stuff being done the single turbo came at 101k and now days she's got 404k on her and still pulling a 40' stock trailer loaded with cows so I'm a beloved spar-tan guy

Your 08 Truck was a 6.4 obviously....

6.4 motor's have a significantly stronger bottom end in stock form due to connecting rod size and the large bed plate that ties the mains together. They can handle 800-900HP moderately and sometimes 1000+ but not for long periods.

6.7 motors do not have near the rod strength and do not have that big bed plate like the 6.4. They do have a 6 bolt main system which is nice but still, 6.7 rods just aren't what 6.4 rods were but the 6.7 is a better motor due to leaps and bounds on the top end of the motor.

A Non VGT swap on your 15' truck with injectors and injection pump upgrade will net you well over 650hp and at that point you will need a built bottom end. And at that point you honestly should just build a motor for the truck. Now you're getting into 20-30k for a built motor.

What sootie said makes more sense to me.

So would a single turbo be over kill on stock injectors pump ect. Call me stupid I hate vgt turbos love the performance hate the racket they make and I love big hp but all the same I would rather just drive it I'm already not looking forward to moving all of my stuff back to the 08 while my 15 is gonna be in the shop just remember anything I do to mine I have to do twice my wife has a 13

Your best bet on a 6.7 truck is a VGT turbo if you aren't doing motor modifications to support HP past 650-700.

A truck with a Streetmax 65.5 and good tuning with a good fuel system should net 600-650 rwhp on a big tune.

You can do a Non VGT turbo kit but it will lag slightly more. They tend to do better with more fuel thrown at them but then HP spikes and then bottom end issues arise.

Sweet! Let me know. Nothing better sounding IMHO than a non VGT turbo lighting up!
