Slight history. Truck has been apart for 8 mo.
Getting mods in sig when I have time off. Which is rare.
Put it all back together and fire it up, no problem.
I ran a few KOER tests and it passes. No codes either. All with AE.
Starts right up runs good in the driveway. Not quite ready for the road yet.
Truck just quit at idle in the garage. Start it back up. Runs for a while. No codes.
Truck starts and idles for two days on and off while doing some testing with AE.
Now it will not start. Run the injector buzz test and they all buzz the same.
At the end of the test P1298 IDM failure. It is modded for 140v.
I have run the buzz test before with the modded IDM and never had a code.
First is there anyone in the Howell or Brighton MI area that may have a spare to test with?
Second I really want the Swamps IDM.
I need to know where to go with this. Thanks for any help.
Any other tests I can do to verify bad IDM?

Have an IDM ready to swap, but also have a cps ready (they dont always throw a code). Id do the IDM first and run the same operational tests you ran earlier.

As stated I have run these tests before, same IDM. No codes.
I have a new black CPS in the glove box. Ill try that first.
Dident know it could cause a IDM fault. Ill swap tomorrow night and see.
Thanks for the insight!

If it was a CPS issue I would not register rpm while cranking correct?
I am getting tach rpm during cranking.
Also this CPS is only 4k mi old. Black from intl.
But I know they can have out of the box problems as well.

Not necessarily. The tach not moving while cranking is not a 100% indicator of CPS problems. This is especially true on the 02-03 trucks which have the digital gauge cluster.

I have seen many trucks not register RPM's while cranking but they start right up and run fine, indicating a good CPS. My own truck is actually like this(2001).

Just to be on the safe side, Id put the known good IDM in the suspect truck. Guys have reported issues with bad IDMs shorting and causing PCM or wiring issues to known good trucks.

Swapped CPS no worky.
Pulled chip no worky.
New code P1283 IPR control circuit.
IPR has voltage.
Along with original code.
Both during KOEO.
Still getting P1298.
IPR dc% starts at 14.xx and during cranking goes to 54.xx.
Re charging battery's now.
Also not getting more then 150 psi during cranking.
Even before swapping CPS.
Cranking seems much slower now with these issues.
Even when jumpered to running 06.
When it does fire it builds ICP in a flash.
:wtf:
Forgot to add first crank today it fired then immediately died.

Im getting the same 1298 code as well. Otherwise the truck runs fine. I'd like to swap IDMs becuase Im pretty sure it still as the stock one. Let us know what you do and what fixes it.

Also today when I attempted to pull codes instead of getting fault codes or the normal p1111 for a system pass it said no diagnostic something or other. Ill try again here in a few min.

Did the ICP sensor first thing. No dice.
As far as IPR, who knows.
However I have read in a few other places people having the same issues and the PCM being the fix.
But they also did not have the IDM codes.
Just the P1283.
I will be rechecking the codes in a few minutes once the batteries are fully charged.

Went through all tests twice. And KOEO 3.
DTC- P1111 system pass. Both times.
KOEO- P1283. Second time, system pass. Third time P1298.
Buzz test- P1111. Second time get the P1298.
I'm not sureif I believe the tests as I have run these tests with totally inconsistent results.
Still no start.
Reset KAM.
Re run all tests again.
DTC- "No diagnostic codes retrieved".
KOEO- System pass.
Buzz test- P1111

WTF?

The oil from the HPOP reservoir is going somewhere, solve that, and you may fix the truck.

At least the valley is dry and no drips anywhere haha.
It looks like I will have to pull the HPOP system and resivor out again. Fack.
