hey i just pulled my pcm/ecm out of my 97 f350 and it is a california pcm/ecm. can you put a non california pcm back into it to make it run again?

It will not be the same, it will be programmed for single shots instead of the splits, not sure how bad it would run though but I wouldnt run it like that for long if anytime at all.

ok ty. i plugged in the edge evolution and im pretty sure it fried my pcm cause when the mechanic plugged in a scanner on the obd it said it couldnt read the codes and should i just get it rebuilt?

Will the truck start?

Check the fuses, if the OBD port is dead then the scanner can not read the PCM.

You need to run the PCM that is designed for the injectors...

its not only split shots but the pin out is different on those computers.

no the truck wont start the glow plugs wait to start stays on.

Like I told Damon today... Check the fuses before pulling the PCM. If the fuse for the OBD port is fine than I would get a PCM...
