Please help! 01 F350 developed new problem today!

What is the TR switch? Sorry, I am a COMPLETE noob when it comes to diesels. I've literally driven this thing ~300 miles since picking it up.

Sorry, the Transmission Range switch. It is located on the drivers side of the transmission and tells the PCM via voltage, what gear the transmission lever is in. When they act up everything from a no start to intermittent irratic transmission operation.

98% sure its the trans taking a crap. It keeps getting worse. its got a ton of drag when in gear. It coasts and revs/runs fine in neutral. I can't afford a BTS tranny so I may have to get a local rebuild when I can save up...Sucks.
