PPEI tuning 2018

Hey guys .

Question for you and thanks for your help.

I have the PPEI tuning with the shift on the fly . My question is the trans tune don’t look so good .
If i compare the power on the pedal
Between my 18 and my 15 my 15 have a lot more instant power .
My 18 i have to go at least 3/4 to feel the power . Is that normal or it’a just the PPEI tuning are différent?
I really like when i can feel the power
Soon on the pedal.

My 2014 with MiniMaxx SOTF and ******** was the best i ever Had

My 2015 was tune with PiP tuning and SCT

My 2018 is tune by PPEI and EzLynk

I would be looking at other tuning. Plenty of great options out there, but PPEI on 17+ just seems to have a lot of bad reviews. My truck rips running Patriot tuning and definitely dont have to go 3/4 throttle to get it to go.

I have tyrant and I love it I was going to get ppei but got a good deal on tyrant so I went with talk to mike at no limit

Damn it’s pissed me off having buy 800$
For tune that is not good .

Chaos or GDP tuning are good option ?

I have been in a truck 17 with gdp it was good but I just rode in it once for maybe 20 miles

I have heard and read good things about truck source diesel tunes. I have no personal experience with them though.

I've been running patriot in my truck with zero issues. Runs and shifts great. Recently got a wild hair and wanted to try some Texas home cooking so I bought an EZ from Truck Source Diesel. Gotta say, I love it. Chris B has these things nailed. You can't go wrong with either of these two in my opinion.

I have PPEI.I switched to Chaos.MY '17 Trans Shifts much better with CHAOS trans tuning.They also have a KAM reset tune.By far the best customer service w Chaos.

Gave me a very good service.
Just hard to find the solution to fix the
Problem . I am thinking to try chaos with all the good review.
But for the service PPEI are good .

They arent going to do anything.......They sell you the tunes then they are done

Unfortunately this seems to be my experience too. I am trying to get them to help with the trans shifting weird. I'm thinking I will be switching soon.

My favorite is the one whit the best tune on the first time i buy it lol .
It’s pissed me off buy the PPEI tuning at this price whitout result.

Yeah, definitely sucks when these things happen man. PPEI on the 17s has really built a bad reputation with customer service, trans issues and lack of support to actually correct issues. Not to mention, the whole time they were selling all those high power tunes for the longest time and telling everyone they were OK to run it without transmission tuning before EZ lynk had the ability to tune the transmissions. To me that is a BIG red flag on a company that doesnt actually care at all about a customers truck and is only pushing sales. They pushed out an incomplete product and would blame the customer if they had any issues. After I read all their arguments online for the longest time defending their actions and saying "you dont need transmission tuning for the high HP tunes and the adaptive learning will compensate for the high HP", they lost all credibility to me. Like others have mentioned, there are several good tuners out there for the 17s (Patriot, Chaos, GDP, Tyrant, ect.). Unfortunately I know you spent money on something so far, but a transmission or engine issues can be a lot more expensive with improper tuning. I would give someone else a shot with tunes and see how your truck likes it!

I have called PPEI about my trans shifting. The trans has been acting weird since I originally tuned it, but got significantly worse after I installed the 4.1 update. I first tried the chat on the ez lynk app and never got a response this has been weeks, still no response. So I called they opened a ticket yesterday morning, this morning the sent a email stating the ticket was closed. Their solution to my problem was to send me instructions to load a tcm tune on a lml duramax.
