I apologize for my statements. I wasnt intending on pecking a fight .However, looking back on what I said,I accept total blame for my errogance.

Im excited to see all the diversity that ford has to offer. I belive it leaves much to be desired. no other brand has the mulitiple options of factory creatism that we do. Pretty neet.

Each and every build ive seen on this site are nothing short of amazing and for that,I thank all of you. irregardless of "my" engine choice, im always rooting for the blue oval one at heart. Be it an old idi or a common rail. And as far as what i have to offer? only support i suppose. and if thats all i can afford...Then ill try and reserve some of that so i dont go broke.....

sorry for the derail...Now,hurry up and go run down them common sense rails! lol

I'm not trying to throw this thread even more outta wack but didn't a mecanically injected 7.3 make over 1500hp and I think it was using a stock crank. And come on 300hp.. lol give the 7.3 some more credit than that there are a lot of guys 700 on fuel on stock forged motors and some spraying the **** out of them. All I'm getting at is this guy is building on bad ass 7.3 mechanically injected one nothing like the ****ty fuel delivery in my truck. **** i mean its a diesel. You know he could spend half the money drop a big block in it and wax any diesel but he is building the 7.3 big deal. I have owned every powerstroke my favorite was the 6.4 for power. But honestly I get behind the wheel of my 7.3 and I know I can drive and not have to worry about stupid **** causing me to be broke down in BFE but different kicks for different people.. bad ass build btw always makes my day when I see people sacking up and building a stroker vs a cummins ..

And this is where I've been lately. Looking more towards LS swaps for a couple reasons. Diesel is expensive and the people that surround diesel as of late are almost embarrassing to be associated with ( not from this site but use Facebook as an example)

Jbenso you are right it was out of line. My apologize to everyone

Matt as you know best of luck you have done more with the ranger than I thought could be done esp on fuel. I'm sure this car will be another project that will be fun to watch. I'm going to step back and watch the progress sorry for the derail or if it seamed I was bashing you because that was def not the case.

no and i totally get where you are coming from. The 6.7 stuff has just started to really take off recently. You are looking for something more tried and true so i get it. And you are right about the complexity you have to have the dash and all the ecm's to make it run smart junction box ect ect the list goes on, and there is plenty that can ruin a pass. Bad sensor, faulty reading, phantom code ect could hinder from a clean pass. So after doing some thinking i see where your going and i dont blame you. We battled stupid stuff like that all year with Hallers truck it seamed like. We dumbed down the transmission control to a PCS and things started working much better but of course too late in the season to really make any progress.

Exactly. Dealing with all that crap in the ranger made us not want to do it again.

No worries. Just trying to explain my thought process. At the end of the day our goal is to win. That's it. Winning requires power and using that power consistently. Sure the newer common rail stuff can have more tuning, data log, less smoke (the main complaint I have about this motor) but they also have 10 fold more things that will keep you from winning. This motor if you put your foot down your getting the fuel no matter what. And I also plan on running it pretty turned down most of the time. So it's not like the ranger where we have it set on kill every time. When you do that parts are going to break.

I actually thought the joke was pointed at the other guy, not Dustin.

This thing will be ridiculous once it's dialed in, no questions asked. Retarded power to the wheels each and every time you line up, no sensors no BS to get in your way. Powersnorter's puller went this entire season with no issues, not sure if that's apples to apples but I think Hypermax has done their homework and knows how to make this thing survive.

But isn't high octane race fuel fairly expensive in itself?

And here come the 7.3 nutswingers. Sigh
hey, I resent that
i see the 7.3 die tards will be strong in this one LOL

I may have over stepped on that one. To my logic it didnt make sense but i do agree with what Matt is doing. We fought so much stupid crap this year its unreal and frustrating. Least with mechanical you push the pedal and it fuels no matter what.

yep its going to be bad on this one.
why so hatefull

live life full throttle

I need some parts if anyone has any laying around. Close to me or I between oklahoma or Indy would also work or anywhere between Indy to west of Chicago.

7.3 parts I need: heads, crank, piston cooling jets, rear cover, lifter hold down and bolts, and bolts for injector clamps.
